Frequently asked questions
Where are you based?
I live in Exeter, Devon mainly photographing weddings in the South and South West of England but sometimes further afield too.
Are you insured?
Yes we have both public liability and professional indemnity insurance which is a requirement of every wedding venue.
What do you mean when you say you do natural, candid, reportage style wedding photography?
If your idea of a nightmare wedding photographer is someone who is loud, bossy and takes large amounts of boring traditional group shots then we are the complete opposite. We like to blend in, interact with guests and take photos of the things you won't have seen happen that you will treasure for ever.
Do you photograph formal groups?
Yes, but we ask to keep the formal group shots to under 10 as it has a big effect on the flow of the day, your guests will get tired of waiting around and being told what to do! We encourage spontaneous casual group shots throughout the celebrations.
How do we book you?
A booking fee and a completed contract is needed to reserve your date, please contact us for payment details.
How many photos will we get?
That depends on your package, but this will be detailed in your quotation, please contact us.
Do you edit all the photos?
Every photo taken is looked at and if choosen for the final selection Jon personally edits them.
Who owns the copyright to the photos?
Legally whoever takes an image retains the copyright for it. But you are granted full reproduction rights to print and share your photographs. This gives you total freedom to use the photos as you wish for personal use, all it means is that they can’t be modified, or used commercially. If any other supplier or business wants to use any of your photos then they have to have our written permission first.
Do you have back up equipment?
Yes, we have 4 cameras in total and multiple lenses.
Do you need to visit our venue prior to the wedding?
No I don’t need to because as an experienced photographer I’m confident in handling any situation and the lighting will always be different so I like to just be in the moment.
Do we have to provide food for you on the day?
It’s very kind of you but no you don't - you need to enjoy your day and not worry about us so when you have your reception meal we always leave you alone and have a break.
